| Plan an escape route from your home and practice it. Have a meeting place outside the home. Once you are out stay out! |
| Matches and lighters are tools not toys. Make sure they are out of reach of children. |
| Never leave pots and pans unattended on the stove. |
| Do not over load extension cords or place them under rugs or carpeting. Replace any cord that is damaged. |
| Do not smoke in bed |
| Crawl low on the floor during a fire. Smoke, heat and poisonous gases rise to the ceiling. Cooler cleaner air will be at the floor. |
