Pre-Employment Standards

 

A)    Be a citizen of the United States and a resident of the City of New Baltimore, employed in the city of New Baltimore or a resident of Macomb County. Priority will be given to New Baltimore residents.

B)    Have obtained a high school diploma or equivalent.

C)    Does not have a felony conviction.

D)    Possess good moral character with references.

E)     Be free from physical defects, chronic diseases, organic, or functional conditions or mental and emotional instabilities which may tend to impair the efficient performance of a volunteer firefighter, or which might endanger the lives of other firefighters.

F)     Possess a valid Michigan driver’s motor vehicle operator’s license and good driving record.

G)    Demonstrate physical ability at a level necessary to perform job related firefighting functions as determined by pre-employment test.

H)    Successfully complete any and all training curriculum as required by the Michigan Firefighters Training Council and the department.

I)        Minimum age of 18 years.

J)      Pass a background Investigation

K)    Pass an oral interview with the membership board.

L)   Pass an Interview with the Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief
